The commencement of the Northeast’s 2018 polo season recently had us taking inventory of our chukka-worthy gear. And – yes – while we’ve taken some lessons and participated in a polo match or two (spoiler alert: it’s hard!), when we say “gear,” what we mean is semi-formal summer attire that is stylish, effortless, and worthy of divot-stomping.

It could be argued that the traditional spectator uniform is a floral shift, and we’ll admit that it’s a foolproof option. However, this season we’ve taken a particular interest in blue toned chambray. For jeans-and-tee people like us, we find the soft-cotton-meets-linen-meets-denim feel of this particular textile to be extraordinarily comfortable, and despite the leisurely look, we think it’s a ringer for any polo match, garden party, or date night (particularly for those of us who prefer to dress down while dressing up).

Delightfully, there is an abundance of chambray to catch our eye, so in an effort to inspire you to give your spring florals a day off, we’ve picked our favorites, added a few accessories, and even included a little sumpin’ sumpin’ for the boys.

And if your riding duds are giving you the blues, take a peek at luxury equestrian retailer Kaval’s current Blue Series for some ring-ready options.
