Courtney was raised on a horse farm in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, and moved to New York City to begin a career in the fashion industry in 2006. Despite living in NYC, she continued to foster a love of horses and equestrian sports. Courtney spent several years showing on a national level, and eventually built a horse farm in Westchester, New York where she resides with her husband, four geldings, two dogs, two cats, six chickens, and two rescued mice (it’s a long story). Between rides, she continues to provide freelance copywriting content to brands within the fashion industry, and runs a website with a focus on her other passion, ethical and sustainable fashion. Courtney adheres to a single philosophy: ride German, wear Italian, drink Scotch, and kiss French.
Elissa is a small town California gal living on the East Coast. For her entire adult life she has worked in media relations, marketing, and branding for the luxury fashion and retail, home interiors and hospitality sectors, as well as for non-profits, technology startups, and media companies including CNN, Vogue, W and Architectural Digest. After 15 years in Manhattan, Elissa ventured north to semi-permanently establish herself in New York’s horse country to further her riding pastime at a competitive level, and as a communications consultant where she finds creative inspiration for clients, personal writing projects, and the occasional tickle of the ivories. Her rainy day pick-me-up: toss your hair back, drink strong coffee, put on some gangsta rap, and handle it.
